The Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University, in collaboration with the Department of International Relations at Sakarya University, is pleased to announce the 1st African Graduate Student Symposium.
This symposium aims to provide an academic platform for Master’s and PhD students to present their research on Africa. Under the theme “Understanding a Rising Africa in the 21st Century,” the event seeks to critically explore Africa’s evolving political, economic, and social dynamics while fostering collaboration among emerging scholars.
Objectives
- To build an academic network among African and Turkish graduate students in Turkey
- To deepen understanding of contemporary political, economic, and social developments in Africa
- To provide a platform for discussing ongoing graduate research on African countries and the continent
- To encourage innovative academic contributions to Africa-related studies
Suggested Topics (but not limited to)
- African politics and governance
- Economic development and trade
- International relations and foreign policy
- Security and conflict studies
- Migration and diaspora
- Culture, identity, and society
- Abstracts should be max. 350 words
- Include title, name, affiliation, and email address
- Language: Turkish and English
